Positions: Groundwater related
HCItasca Denver (formerly Hydrologic Consultants, Inc., of Colorado), located in Lakewood, CO, currently has openings for the following groundwater related positions:
- Project- or Staff-Level Groundwater Hydrogeologist/Modeler
The successful candidate will contribute to projects related to mining, groundwater supply, and the investigation, characterization, and remediation of contaminated sites. Mining projects could involve existing or new open-pit or underground operations in the U.S. and internationally, and may include conceptual and numerical modeling for dewatering, water supply, water disposal, and prediction of environmental impacts to water resources. Other projects could involve regional hydrogeologic baseline studies, aquifer testing, water-supply development, groundwater and surface water monitoring, and remedial investigations of contaminated sites.
Project- or Staff-Level Position
- M.S. or B.S. degree in hydrogeology or closely related field
- 3+ years (Project-Level) or 2+ years (Staff-Level) experience in the field of hydrological consulting, preferably for mining projects
- Familiarity with standard groundwater flow modeling codes/software packages, ideally including MODFLOW and/or FEFLOW
- Willingness to perform field work and travel on project assignments

Positions: Geomechanics-related
Itasca is seeking geomechanics engineers for its Minneapolis and Denver offices. A background in mining- or civil-related geomechanics, experience in the mining or civil industries, and experience in numerical modeling are required.
Principal Position
Masters or higher degree in mining engineering, geotechnical engineering, or related field; minimum 8+ years experience in mining industry with project management experience; knowledge of worldwide mining personnel and economics; knowledge of Itasca codes and their applicability to the mining industry; effective communication skills; proven ability to develop projects; ability to train and mentor mining and geotechnical engineers.
Staff Positions
Masters degree in Mining, Geotechnical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related field; 2 years of experience in the field; demonstrable ability with finite difference numerical modeling software.
