| 190 | 9/19/11 | - Support direct specification of ball mass properties (see pfc{2d,3d}40manual_mods.pdf, section "DIRECT SPECIFICATION OF BALL MASS PROPERTIES").
| 189 | 7/28/11 | - Add the PFC2D flat joint contact model and support for this model (see Section 17.0 FLAT JOINT CONTACT MODEL in pfc2d40manual_mods.pdf).
| 188 | 7/26/11 | - Three items:
- fixed bug in parallel-bond logic, before the fix, parallel bonds would be deleted if assigned a zero stiffness;
- modified periodic logic to enforce that (a) group and extra information are transfered prior to any contact creation when a ball migrates across the periodic boundary, (b) contact model and contact model properties are transfered properly when a contact migrates across the periodic boundary; and
- fix bug affecting PFC3D_EV, before the fix, contact-related plot items would not regenerate properly to reflect change in contact geometry.
| 187 | 4/25/11 | - Bug fix to PFC3D and PFC3D_EV 4.0, the General Walls with type DISK were not restoring properly.
| 186 | 4/12/11 | - Change made to PFC Fishtank 1-111: Fix bug in enhanced FLAC-PFC2D coupling logic to ensure that FLAC supports excavation through the coupling boundary for all possible FLAC grids.
| 185 | 3/10/11 | - Two items:
- Speedup the timestep determination procedure in the case of a loosely connected assembly using the Hertz contact model; and
- update the PFC Fishtank 1-110 to add gap-based plotting of PFC2D cracks.
| 184 | 2/4/11 | - Two items:
- Enable the Periodic Space logic to transfer contact stiffness and friction when the built-in Linear contact model is used (this is necessary if these properties have been modified by the user, and their values do not correspond to the values inherited from the contacting balls properties); and
- update the linear user-defined model example to use the features added in release 183.
| 183 | 1/31/11 | - Four items:
- Modifications to the User-Defined Contact Models option (see pfc{2d,3d}40manual_mods.pdf, section "MODIFICATION TO THE USER_DEFINED CONTACT MODELS OPTION");
- the exisiting user-defined models have been updated;
- bug fix in the burger UDM, the shear relative displacement (Kelvin part) at the previous timestep is now rotated to accomodate the rotation of the shear force direction before computing the new force; and
- minor bug fixes to the EV option (3D only).
| 182 | 12/2/10 | - Three items:
- Fixed bug affecting PFC3D_EV 32bit version, if installed on 64 bit platform the "Help->Manual" link would not work properly;
- fix problem with the automatic version number comparison for online update check in PFC3D_EV; and
- rebuild components for PFC3D and PFC3D_EV 4.0 release onto Itasca CD 25A.
| 181 | 11/15/10 | - Two items:
- Change made to PFC Fishtank 1-109 (enhance the FLAC-PFC2D coupling logic to support excavation through the coupling boundary – see PFC FishTank PUBLIC MODIFICATIONS LIST, fist.txt); and
- PFC3D_EV bug fix to multithreading logic so that program no longer runs slow on small models
| 180 | 10/27/10 | - Minor modifications for PFC3D_EV release, including the fix of a kernel-GUI synchronization problem that was sometimes making PFC3D_EV cycle much slower than PFC3D. The PFC3D_EV cycling slowdown relative to PFC3D is now small (less than ~10 percent on small models), and becomes insignificant for large models.
| 179 | 10/19/10 | - Modifications to PFC Fishtank 1-108.
| 178 | 10/18/10 | - Rebuild components for PFC3D and PFC3D_EV 4.0 release onto Itasca CD {greater than 24B}. This includes a bug fix to PFC2D, PFC3D and PFC3D_EV. Restore activation of fishcall FC_NEW_QUIT during NEW and RESTORE operations. Such activation was removed unintentionally in 4.0-161. The fix removes the slowdown during NEW, RESTORE and QUIT operations on models that use the PFC Fishtank and have large numbers of cracks.
| 177 | 10/13/10 | - Rebuild all components for PFC3D_EV 4.0 release.
| 176 | 10/11/10 | - Complete all PFC3D_EV projects to be provided to user – see the Welcome Page of the PFC3D and PFC3D_EV help file.
| 175 | 10/4/10 | - Changes made to PFC Fishtank only. Fix two minor bugs in fist 1-106 – see PFC FishTank PUBLIC MODIFICATIONS LIST, fist.txt.
| 174 | 9/27/10 | - Minor fixes to PFC3D_EV, and major modifications to the PFC3D and PFC3D_EV help file. Also, upgrade installation test for PFC3D_EV: see data_files3d\ InstallationTest\ ReadMe.txt.
| 173 | 8/26/10 | - PFC3D_EV changes: added help file, and fixed bug in processing of EVPLOT command.
| 172 | 8/3/10 | - Changes to CCFD logic in PFC3D and PFC3D_EV: (a) added a fluid pressure field to the CCFD element internal representation, and (b) added fish access and plotting (PFC3D_EV only).
| 171 | 7/27/10 | - Add support for slip-tracking package:
- See fist 1-102;
- User-defined contact model option: modify ICodeFunc::fc_udm() to allow passing up to 10 double values (by first calling ICodeFunc::fc_SetArg().

| 167 | 6/24/10 | - Fix bug that affects the PFC2D/3D User-Written C++ Code optional feature only, since release 161. Before the fix, and since release 161, a private PFC2D/3D executable created using the User-Written C++ Code option would fail to restore a save file created with the same executable.
| 166 | 5/28/10 | - Bug fix to PFC2D/3D that affects the behavior of the smooth-joint contact model and update PFC Fishtank to fist 1-100. BUG FIX. The correct behavior is that if the smooth-joint contact model is assigned to a contact with an existing parallel bond, then that parallel bond will be deleted after the next cycle. The correct behavior occurs for PFC2D/3D 4.0-141 and before. The correct behavior also occurs for PFC2D/3D 4.0-166 and after. But for PFC2D/3D 4.0 with subversion numbers from 142 to 165, existing parallel bonds at smooth-joint contacts have their normal strength set to zero while their shear strength remains unmodified. For such models, these existing parallel bonds are not deleted until one of these strengths is exceeded, which may require substantial additional relative joint displacement. While the parallel bond remains, it acts as an elastic piece of cement and carries some of the load at the contact.
| 165 | 5/21/10 | - Allow PFC3D_EV to become a pre-release (see memo "PFC3D_EV Description" in file PFC3D_EV-description.pdf). The available codes are now PFC2D, PFC3D and PFC3D_EV.
| 164 | 5/19/10 | - Support slip-tracking package, which includes udm_SmoothJointPlus contact model.
| 163 | 4/28/10 | - Update PFC Fishtank to fist 1-98 (add fracture-toughness measurement).
| 162 | 4/6/10 | -
- Fixed bug in {JSET write} command (PFC3D only), so that the dip angle and dip direction are output in degrees, before this fix they were output in radians;
- Modified the clump logic to add the ability to track the displacement of clump centroids (see pfc{2d,3d}40manual_mods.pdf, section "ADDITION OF CLUMP DISPLACEMENT TRACKING"); and
- added rock-cutting environment for PFC2D to PFC Fishtank 1-97– see "PFC Example: PFC2D Rock-Cutting Procedures".
| 161 | 4/5/10 | - Merged in PFC3D_EV modifications. The codes produced are: PFC2D, PFC3D and PFC3D_EV. The PFC2D and PFC3D codes should behave the same as before the merge.
